Rhetoric and Composition is a thriving subfield of English Studies that focuses on all things to do with how people write. Graduate coursework in rhetoric and composition consists of a wide range of topics in the field such as the teaching of composition, the history of rhetoric, contemporary issues in rhetoric, research methods, contemporary composition theories, composition and critical theory or cultural theory, visual rhetorics, and more.
